Course Description

This program is designed for anyone handling food in a workplace such as servers and cooks.

In this BASICS.fst certification course learn about what you need to know to comply with public health requirements and how to apply safe food practices in your workplace. This course covers topics such as: The flow of food and facility design Personal hygiene, cleaning and sanitizing Proper food storage, Temperature Danger Zone, food allergies and food safety regulations. BASICS.fst has been designed to meet all of the recommended requirements of the Canadian Food Retail and Food Service Code and Regulations. Certification expires after 5 years.

Exam consists of 50 multiple choice questions and a passing grade of 74% is required for certification

Course Description

This program is designed for supervisors and managers of food service operations or for anyone that would like an in-depth understanding of Food Safety.

In this ADVANCED.fst certification course we cover the food safety for the entire operation from receiving food until the food is consumed by the customer. Building on the BASICS.fst course we also cover topics such as: HACCP, developing a food safety system, the challenges of food safety, maintaining sanitary facilities and equipment and how viruses may be spread. ADVANCED.fst has been designed to exceed all of the recommended requirements of the Canadian Food Retail and Food Service Code and Regulations.  Certification expires after 5 years.

Exam consists of 80 multiple choice questions and a passing grade of 75% is required for certification
