    BASIC SERVERS TRAINING

    Course Description

    Service is vital in a guest’s perception of an event and venue, and servers play an important role in ensuring overall guest satisfaction. In Basic Servers Training, participants establish the serving fundamentals required for a successful service. In this hands-on course, participants learn proper wine service, how to carry 3 plates, table clearing, and the essentials of customer service etiquette. Focus is on Buffet Food Service, Plated Food Service and French (Russian) Food Service.

    ADVANCED SERVERS TRAINING

    Course Description

    Advance servers training allows participants to build on their existing foundation of service skills. They will learn the art of fine-dining service and become more efficient servers with the new tips and techniques this course provides. This course will offer that next level of professionalism that enables servers to be more organized and proficient at their jobs.

    Bartender and Mixology Training

    Course Description

    The Bartender and Mixology Training course is a must-have according to industry standards. This course covers correct preparation methods, standard mixing techniques, and product knowledge pertaining to all beverage categories: spirits, liqueurs, cocktails, shooters, wine and beer.

    Participants will be provided with a course manual that includes all of today’s top drink recipes, basic product knowledge and tips for service excellence.

    Participants must successfully complete both practical and written multiple choice tests, incorporating the theory and hands-on skills acquired throughout the course. Certification issued. Must be 18 years of age or older.

    3 Hour Bartending Workshop

    Course Description

    This course is designed for anyone who wants to learn to make fabulous drinks for home parties or for those who want a taste of what working behind a bar is really like. This 3 hour introduction to bartending covers the basics of mixing a good cocktail. Learn standard mixing techniques, the art to shaking cocktails and gain product knowledge. We will cover a selection of drink recipes from our Bartender Training Certification Course.

    This class is a taste of the real Bartender Training Certification Course.  No Certificates are issued.

    The Wine Council of Ontario Certification of Merit

    Course Description

    The Wine Council of Ontario Certification of Merit Program is a self-study introductory wine program which teaches participants about the appellations and sub-appellations of Ontario wines, wine service and food and wine pairing principals. Participants will be provided with a newly released Wine Appellations of Ontario: An Introductory Course book with review exercises. Participants are able to take as much time as required to complete the program. Certification provided upon successful completion of the final exam administered at iTrain’s training facility.

    Smart Serve Certification Course

    Course Description

    Servers, Bartenders, Hostesses and Hospitality Managers must be Smart Serve certified by Law. The Smart Serve training program teaches responsible alcohol service, educating hospitality staff on the Liquor Licence Act, standard drinks, and the effects of alcohol on the body. The course also provides information and tips on maintaining a safe and enjoyable atmosphere for guests. Participants will be provided with the Smart Serve Ontario Workbook and certification upon successful completion of the final exam.

    Basic Food Handlers

    Course Description

    By law, owners and operators of food establishments are required to ensure that there is, at all times when the establishment is operating, at least one certified food handler working in a supervisory capacity in each area of the premises where food is prepared, processed, served, packaged or stored. iTrain’s certified BASICS.fst Instructor teaches participants everything they need to know in order to comply with public health requirements and how to apply food safe practices in the workplace. Participants are provided with the BASICS.fst course book and certification upon successful completion of exam. Certification is valid for 5 years.

    Advanced Food Handlers

    Food handler certification

    Course Description

    iTrain’s certified ADVANCED.fst Instructor provides participants with a comprehensive review of food safe practices in the workplace. Designed for management level employees, this course teaches participants about the challenges of food safety, how to maintain sanitary facilities and equipment and how to develop a food safety system. Participants will be provided with the ADVANCED.fst course book and certification upon successful completion of exam. Certification is valid for 5 years.

    Course Description

    Providing employees with the knowledge they need to maintain a safe working environment is essential to workplace health and safety. Employers must provide information and instruction to all workers who work with or near a controlled product. Our WHMIS program covers:
